Policies and Disclaimers
Last updated: July 16, 2025
Thank you for visiting my website. By using this site, you signify your acceptance of my Policies and Disclaimers. If you do not agree with any part of my Policies and Disclaimers, please do not use this website.
Cancellation Policy
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This is a practice in protecting time that is reserved just for you. I do my best to accommodate short- and long-term shifts in scheduling needs. If you cancel or reschedule an appointment within the 24-hour time frame, or don’t show up for an appointment, you will be charged your full session fee.
Emergency Disclaimer
This website is not suitable for emergency situations. If you or someone you know are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your local emergency hospital.
As a psychotherapist in a solo private practice, I’m not able to be “on call” for emergency situations. If an urgent mental health issue arises, I encourage you to contact one of the U.S. National Crisis Lines.
Good Faith Estimate
If you do not have insurance or are not using insurance to pay for therapy services, you have the right to request and receive a Good Faith Estimate. This estimate will explain how much your therapy will cost before any scheduled services. The estimated costs provided are valid for 12 months from the date of the Good Faith Estimate. The estimate will include relevant service codes and any diagnostic codes that have been determined. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, you can visit the official CMS website.
HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices
Under the HIPAA Privacy Rule, therapists must provide a Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) which describes how the entity uses and discloses Protected Health Information (PHI) and outlines patient rights regarding their PHI. Read my Notice of Privacy Practices here.
No Guarantee of Results
Psychotherapy involves a multifaceted and individualized process, and outcomes differ from person to person. The success of therapy relies on numerous factors unique to each client’s situation. Notice to Clients
The Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) requires that therapists provide, in writing, the Notice to Clients before or at the start of therapy which includes the licensee’s full name as filed with the BBS, license number, type of license, and the expiration date of their license.
The BBS receives and responds to complaints regarding services provided within the scope of practice of marriage and family therapists. You may contact the BBS online or call (916) 574-7830.
